Hackathon Week 1

Today was the first session in the Edu Tech hackathon. The objective of the session was for the participants to learn about the problem people faced in their workspaces/learning spaces. When we reached the National Design Center we were breached about the for the next few sessions. Then we were asked to look for blue Post-Its that were stuck all around the room. Both me and my sister got Post-Its with the number 5 on them. We were asked to Queue up at the back of room based on our numbers in front of the whiteboard with our number on it. Then we had to one by one write the first  thing that came to our minds when we thought about workspaces/learning spaces. Then we had to write on some yellow Post-Its people who were involved in workspaces/learning spaces. We were then asked to think (in our groups) about questions to ask people about their workspaces/learning spaces. Then we were given a set of people to target (designers, makers and architects) and we went around the building to give people interviews. We interviewed 11 people and were rejected by one person. Then we had to talk about one thing all the people we interviewed had in common. We were given homework 'Interview and talk to some people and come with a problem you want to solve'. The End.

Our Vist To Visa

Today my sister and I went to Visa office. This is how we looked at the place:

Cafeteria (Had orange juice) → → → Manager Presentation Hall → → → 10 minute Presentation

by Developers →→→ 10 minute Presentation by Engineers → → → 10 minute Presentation by

Testers → → → 10 minute Presentation by Us (14 people were there + dad) → → → Went home

We had an enjoyable experience there. They were really serious about us and spent their time on us. My dad said he thought they had confused us with some mangers. We had four escorts. The trip was very enlightening for us and I got a few more ideas for coming projects.

Plus, I got 18/18 for my math test. Whop !!! By the way I have to go for Gifted Education Program on Friday (24 August 2018)

My first cheesecake

On Anjalis birthday yesterday I made a cheesecake as a birthday present for her.🍰🍰 This is the recipe for it:
CHEESECAKE

CRUST
1 1/2 cups graham cracker crumbs
1/4 cup sugar
5 tablespoons + 1 teaspoon (1/3 cup) melted butter
1/8 teaspoon salt

FILLING
2 cups (2 large packages) cream cheese, at room temperature
2 large eggs
2/3 cup sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla extract

INSTRUCTIONS
Make the crust by stirring together all of the crust ingredients, mixing until thoroughly combined.
Press the crumbs into the bottom and up the sides of the pie pan, making a thicker layer on the bottom than on the sides.
Make the filling by mixing together the room-temperature cream cheese and sugar until smooth. Mix in the eggs and vanilla, again mixing until smooth.
Set the pie pan onto a baking sheet, if desired;
Pour the filling into the crust.
Place the cheesecake in the oven. Bake it for 20 minutes, then add a crust shield; or shield the crust with strips of aluminum foil. Bake for an additional 10 minutes (for a total of about 30 minutes). An instant-read thermometer inserted into the crust 1" from the edge should read between 165°F and 170°F; the filling won't look entirely set in the center.
Remove the cheesecake from the oven, and set it on a rack to cool while you make the topping.

Everybody at her party loved it and we had juice to go with it.🍹🍹 

My M-school homework

Sometimes my mom gives me M-school (mother-school), today for M-school she asked me to write about my Chinese New Year holiday. So I'm stuck doing that. And it's supposed to be in compo format. This is my story.

My Chinese New Year Holiday

''Yeah!'' I said."It's going to be the holidays and there's going to be so much homework". Actually I didn't say the part about the home work.The teachers didn't give homework they are not supposed to. Back to the story. I was in school and it was Wednesday. My teacher had just told us that we will be having our four and a half day Chinese New Year holiday starting from tomorrow. For the Chinese New Year holidays my family and I were planing a long distance biking trip from Bukit Batok to Jurong East, Jurong East to Clementi, Clementi to Buona Vista, Buona Vista to Alexsandra, Alexsandra to Clarke Quay, Clarke Quay to Gardens By the Bay, Gardens By the Bay to East Coast Park, East Coast Park to Bedok Reservor, Bedok Reservor to Pasirris. At last we have reached the end of this super long list.Back again to the story. My parents had booked a chalay in Pasirris. After long and very tiring bike ride we cooled of for the night there. The next day (we had booked the chalay for two nights) we went to Wild Wild Wet or WWW for short over there we climbed a grand total of  2064 stairs each. But the rides there  were so totally awesome they made up for it. The next day we cycled all the way home. I was super tired after it so I for one think it best that I go to sleep.

Whoooooop! I for the first time in looong life I have won..... Drum roll please......THE 3rd PRIZE IN A RACE!!!!!!!!!! Let me tell you about it.

Project

• Build something new. You may reuse code for specific components, but recycling an entire project is not okay.

• All teams need to stay for the duration of the event. We recommend bringing sleeping bags. Teams that leave will be disqualified.

Clarification: Team members may leave as long as there's at least one member present throughout the competition. (i.e. the presence of the team is defined by the disjunction of that of each team member)

Anyway back to the topic me and anj went for hack n roll we made a cat take careing machine.this is a quick disceription: It is a automated cat cage that cleans itself, depositing all the days waste into a smell-proof trash bin. New bedding is layed out and new food and water dispensed.And best of all we got best freshman hack award. But the thing is the prise a chromecast we don't need it since we don't even have a TV. So I'm wondering if any of you would like to buy one.PS tell me if you do.

My teeth

Today I went to the dentist.I still have FOUR baby teeth. But luckily they are all very very clean. Anjali has  two baby teeth. But some her teeth are yellowish. After the dentist cleaned Anjali and my teeth, she let us choose presents. I chose a beautiful frozen ring and Anjali chose a lipstick eraser.
